Hello there! I’m Brianne and I cannot envision a life without American Sign Language (ASL) as it is my primary and native language. I grew up moving across states, but spent most of my life in the Bay Area of California. I graduated from Oregon State University with my B.A. when I was overseas. I have lived in several countries: England, Denmark, and Austria in the past ten years. I have interned in South America for three months as well. I studied for a semester at Wolverhampton University in Wolverhampton, England, majoring in Media Arts and Deaf Studies. I then received my M.S. degree in Deaf Education from McDaniel College in Maryland. I currently live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have taught Elementary for five years at a Deaf school setting, as well as Community ASL classes for learners ranging from young children to adults. Some fun facts about me: I was Miss Deaf Teen America between the years of 2005-2007! I had a cover story on Scholastic News magazine during that time too. I know several languages aside from ASL and English. I can communicate in British Sign Language (BSL), German, Austrian Sign Language (OEGS), and International Sign. I’m here if you’d like to get a start on your American Sign Language (ASL) journey! It’s a whole new world!
