Bonjour! My name is Chloé Garlaschi, and I’m a native French teacher born and raised in Auvergne, a lovely region in central France famous for its chain of 80 dormant volcanoes listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2018. I’ve been passionate about languages since I was a kid, which most certainly fueled my thirst for traveling the world and discovering new cultures. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and a Master’s Degree in Global Communications and Event Management, which led me to make a career as a digital marketer and communications specialist in the tech industry over the course of the past 10 years. So far, I’ve lived, studied, and worked in the UK, Vietnam, Argentina and I’m currently based in Mallorca, Spain’s biggest island also considered as the jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. I discovered my passion for teaching when I set up home in Vietnam from 2014 to 2016 and was offered a teaching role in a Montessori school. I immediately felt in my element thanks to the amazing, rewarding feeling of helping students progress in all areas of their development and empowering them to become confident, positive, lifelong learners that celebrate successes together and know that mistakes are only the first step on the way to learning. I speak English, Spanish, and Italian therefore I know what it takes to master a foreign language — spoiler alert: it’s not about grammar or syntax, but it’s all about speaking and practicing in the real world. I am familiar with the challenges and hurdles that a new language learner faces. If I’m not in class, you will find me me cooking some delicious food and experimenting new recipes in my kitchen, taking care of my vegetable garden or hiking in the nature with my 3-year-old Border Collie dog Ziggy. I can not wait to meet you and start this amazing journey together where I’ll strive to make learning enjoyable in a way that is engaging — and most importantly fun for you.
