Coucou ! My name is Ivy; I am a US native and have been teaching French for four years to learners of all ages. I grew up hearing French from my mother, who would read French Books like Le Petit Prince to me, and fell in love with the language at an early age. At sixteen, I had the opportunity to learn and immerse myself in French through a year-long study abroad program in Laval, France. From there, my passion for the language and culture only grew and I continued my studies in French literature as an undergraduate, during which time I returned to France to study at the Université Grenoble Alpes for FLE, literature, and art history. After spending a year in the social work field post-graduation, I returned to school to earn my Master’s in French. As part of my MA program, I began teaching French at the undergraduate level and discovered my passion for sharing the French language and francophone cultures with my students. Since then, I have had the pleasure of teaching French in a variety of educational settings. My primary goal as your teacher is to create an environment in which you feel comfortable expressing yourself and communicating your learning needs. I love to learn about my students’ interests so that I may better create meaningful and enriching lessons, and I always enjoy incorporating music and games into my classes. I am excited to learn about you and to share this beautiful language with you!
