Bonjour! Je m’appelle Jacqueline et je suis française! Here is a summary of my life and education to give you an insight on what I have to offer as a teacher: I was born in Morocco where my father worked for the French Foreign Service and I was immersed in both cultures for the first ten years of my life. Then we went back to France. In my late teens, I was offered a position as an au pair in the United States. Naturally inquisitive and fearless……I accepted ….. The rest is history!!! I earned a B.A and an M.A ( French, with a focus on Medieval Studies) from American universities in the North East. I chose to teach my native language because: * It kept me connected to my heritage and my family. * It is the gateway to experience so many other cultures where French is spoken. * And more than anything because I love to teach my native language and learn from my students. My genuine curiosity towards other people, a solid background in francophone cultures and yearly vacations in Europe, all make my teaching current, fun, interesting and thought provoking. I have a keen interest in my students’ progress as I give each one the individual attention he/she needs while keeping parents informed of their success or needs. Working as a team I believe ensures the best possible outcome. I love arts, history, music, nature and our World cultures. In my spare time you will find me gardening, walking, reading or watching movies. I also enjoy preparing and sharing leisurely meals with my friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and all of my new colleagues. Au revoir!!
