Jie Qiao M.
Hello! I have over eight-years-full-time Mandarin teaching experience in NJ public schools. I was born and raised in Beijing, China. I published two novels in Chinese, and am a native Mandarin speaker. I have been successfully teaching 700 students/year, 100 students/day (6, 8, 9, 10, 11,12th graders). I taught Chinese Level I to AP students in both middle and high schools. I have received very positive reviews and published the Mandarin Program newsletter and Quarterly Program Reviews. I also have been teaching students to be creative and effective Chinese language learners. I took 40 students to see The Beijing Acrobats in NJPAC at no cost to students or the school/district. In addition, I successfully ran/advised the Chinese Honor Society and helped with the World Language Induction Ceremony. I have completed my Master of Arts in Teaching Chinese at Rutgers University. And I graduated with a GPA of 3.944. I have a STANDARD TEACHING CERTIFICATE. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, from Baruch College in New York City. Three of my professors sent recommendation letters to The International Chinese Language Council. As a result, I was selected to travel (expenses-paid) to China, to attend the 2010 Advanced Training Program on Pedagogy and Chinese Teaching. With almost nine years of public school teaching experience, a standard teaching certificate, and published two Chinese novels in Beijing’s popular public magazine, I had been all-time #1 in my MAT class from Rutgers with 3.944 out of 4 cumulative GPA, I am confident that you won’t be regretted hiring me.
