Hallo! Wie geht’s? (Hello! How are you?) Though I have lived and taught in the US for many years, I am originally from a small town in Germany called Bischofsheim in the beautiful state of Hessen. I love traveling, not just to German speaking countries, but all over the United States, Europe, and beyond. While traveling, I am always fascinated by how much German I hear spoken all over the globe.
Professionally, I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, but my heart is in teaching. I love trying new approaches and personalizing learning to make it as fun and engaging as possible. I joke that I get bored easily, and I have been fortunate to get a variety of experiences teaching English, German, and even a year of French in a variety of settings, online as well as brick-and-mortar buildings, spanning grades 7 through early college level. Through these experiences, my teaching approach has greatly evolved, and I have been teaching textbook free with a complete communicative and comprehensible input approach for several years with great success. I can’t wait to share my culture and language with you in a way that you enjoy. So komm schon! Lernen wir etwas! (So come on! Let’s learn something!)
