I come from Croatia, a beautiful country just east of Italy, and I live in a town on the coast of the Adriatic Sea called Rijeka, which in Croatian means “river”. My country is very multilingual, but my family even more so – my mother is German and my father Croatian and everyone in my family can speak between three and six foreign languages.
I am a certified teacher with an MA in German and English language and literature, currently finishing my PhD in teaching methodology at the University in Graz (Austria). Over the past 10 years I have taught in the UK and in Croatia at various institutions and all kinds of levels. What I love most about being a foreign language teacher is igniting a passion for languages in my students and helping them discover a whole new outlook on the world.
As a life-long serial language learner myself, I will try to show you that learning a new language such as German can be fun, enlightening, and immensely rewarding. I love traveling, meeting new and interesting people, spending time with my two dogs and three cats and baking. Also, I am currently learning my seventh foreign language – Japanese!
