Hello! I am from northern California and I grew up bilingual and bicultural because my parents are immigrants from Italy and I was the first born. Growing up, my parents’ policy was to speak only Italian at home! When I was 6, my parents no longer spoke dialect with me. I loved being bilingual from an early age. Naturally, I developed a love of languages and cultures. I began to learn Spanish in my community. I have a B.A. in Spanish and Italian, an M.A. in English, and am also certified to teach ESL. I have taught Italian, Spanish and EFL in Italy where I have been living for 20 years! I live in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region near Venice and Trieste but also regularly visit Campania between Caserta and Benevento where I have a second home. What I love the most about Italy are the sea and the mountains, then cappuccino and caffés. I’ve also studied in Puebla, Mexico and visited several countries, most recently Ireland. I am a patient, empathetic and conscientious teacher. I use strategies to make lessons interactive and enjoyable. I am excited to share with you my passion for languages, cultures and language learning and look forward to helping you achieve your goals while enjoying your language studies.
