My name is Sydney and I am an Admissions and Outreach Coordinator with LanguageBird. I studied Intercultural Communications and Political Science at Brigham Young University in Hawaii. I was born in Los Angeles and grew up both in California and Washington state. I have had several incredible experiences living abroad. While in college I did an internship at the US Embassy in Paris for the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs department. I also spent four years teaching English in Istanbul, Turkey. I have spent the past several years working with various organizations including international relations with the City of Portland, marketing for a local intercultural nonprofit, and high school study abroad. I currently speak basic French and Turkish. When I’m not at work you can find me hiking, playing instruments, travelling, or engrossed in a book from the local library! My personal and career experiences have inspired me to join the LanguageBird team where we make an impact by fostering the next generation of global citizens through language learning.
