Hello! I am a semi-retired teacher from the Adirondack region of New York State. Having taught in small, rural schools for 32 years, I have developed a strong teaching practice focused on adapting lessons to individual needs. My original training was in teaching French, which I did for half of my career.
I studied at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée in Besançon, France, and hold a B.A. degree in French. My M.A. degree is in Education. I am especially interested in techniques for teaching languages in an authentic, useful, and satisfying way, and in using language to explore culture. My background in linguistics and history enriches my practice.
In my spare time, I am a musician and enjoy web development.
