Hello! I’m Felix and my signed name is F-X on the right side of forehead, and I live in the sunny state of Florida, and I’m excited to share my passion for American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf culture, and meaningful communication with my students! I have been teaching 15+ years and specialize in creating engaging ASL learning experiences that help students build confidence in expressive and receptive communication. My teaching incorporates vocabulary, grammar, storytelling, classifiers, Deaf history, and Deaf culture while giving students plenty of opportunities to use ASL in meaningful and practical ways. I believe language learning is most successful when students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, being creative, and having fun along the way.
As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging, organized, and always looking for creative ways to make learning memorable. I especially enjoy incorporating interactive activities, games, storytelling, real-world situations, and student interests into my lessons.
A little about me outside of teaching: I love exploring new ideas, being creative, and finding new ways to make learning exciting. Living in Florida also means there is never a shortage of sunshine and adventures! I’m a lifelong learner myself, and one of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing that moment when something finally “clicks” for a student.
I look forward to meeting you, learning together, and helping you become a confident ASL communicator. Let’s make learning ASL an experience you’ll look forward to!
