Hello! My name is Tai, and I’m excited to share my passion for American Sign Language with you!
My journey with language began early. I grew up attending an oral deaf institute, later learned Signing Exact English (SEE), and eventually found my way to ASL through the Deaf community. Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of teaching ASL in homeschool, community college, university, and virtual high school settings.
I hold a B.A. in Deaf Studies and a Master’s in Sign Language Education (MASLED), and I am ASLTA certified. My teaching approach is grounded in patience, creativity, real-world communication, and respect for ASL as a rich, living language. I believe lessons should be personalized to each learner’s needs and goals.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring nature, reading, cooking, playing games, and caring for my two cats, Marty and Boot.
I believe learning ASL should feel personal, engaging, and connected to real life. I can’t wait to learn and grow with you!
