Hello! It’s very nice to meet you. My name is Yury Paola, and I’m from Colombia. I have been teaching ESL, Spanish, and TEFL since 2010 and I have been teaching at LanguageBird since July 2021.
I hold a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the European University of the Atlantic, as well as a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto. I also have a B.A. in teaching English, Spanish, and French, which means I understand the challenges and joys of learning a new language.
My classes are fun, engaging, and highly conversational. I adapt every lesson to my students’ goals, whether that’s general proficiency, accent neutralization, exam preparation, business English/Spanish, or learning for travel and leisure. I also have extensive experience preparing students for international exams such as TOEFL, Cambridge exams, and IELTS.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, exploring new cultures, and learning languages. I bring that curiosity and enthusiasm into my teaching, creating a supportive, patient, and relaxed environment.
