Hallo! My name is Carolina, and I’m excited to help you on your German-learning journey! I’m passionate about language learning and cultural exchange, and I love helping students build confidence in speaking German.
My own German-learning journey began when I traveled to Germany shortly after starting to learn the language. I spent over a year living in Austria and Germany and traveling in Switzerland, immersing myself in the language and learning from native speakers. I also had the opportunity to teach German to refugees. Later, while studying German Studies in the U.S., I studied abroad at a university in Tübingen, Germany, where I lived with native German students.
I believe the best way to learn German is by speaking as much as possible and using authentic materials like movies, books, music, and real-world conversations. I tailor my lessons to your interests and goals so we can talk about the things you actually enjoy while building practical communication skills.
Outside of teaching German, I love watercolor painting, reading, camping, and hiking. I ran my first marathon last year and completed my first Olympic-distance triathlon this year! I also double-majored in Art History, so I’m always on a mission to visit every museum I come across.
