Hi there! My name is Kaitlin, and I’m so excited to help you on your language learning journey.

My own journey began several decades ago in a rural middle school classroom where we were taught a sampler class of German, French, and Spanish. My family is from Sweden, so I was drawn to German (though I also took Spanish—and I would have taken French if my high school had offered it!).

I had the chance to live in both Austria and Germany, where I experienced a fully immersive language learning environment full of dialects, cultural phenomena, and some amazing street food.

When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to become a German teacher. I majored in German Studies at the University of Oregon, where I earned both my BA and MA, along with a certificate in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching.

I love incorporating my students’ interests into my lessons, as well as using media such as literature, songs, television, and movies. I also have a particular love for creating fun and simple language learning songs.
