Students build upon and increase listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language. Students develop their Hebrew proficiency through extensive, spontaneous interaction with a native speaker in the language.

Students develop cultural awareness and become prepared to encounter real-life situations outside of the classroom through discussions of cultural customs and behavior, watching videos, conducting internet research, and reading authentic materials written in the target languages.

Tutoring and Test Prep lessons are for students who would like additional support outside of the classroom. Whether tutoring for current coursework or preparing for an upcoming AP or Fluency exam, our native-speaking instructors are here to help!

Conversational Lessons are for students who are looking to expand their language skills. Heading to a new country and want to be prepared? Need language skills for a new job? With Conversational Lessons, you’ll learn to speak like a native with a native.

Innovative learning activities, students directed projects, and unique assessments engage students in the learning process. Instructors take notes during each lesson to share with students and evaluate students over time based on personal progress. We don’t believe in timed exams. We do believe in giving students the opportunity to present what they have learned in a format and environment in which they are comfortable. Final projects are presented to the instructor during the final lesson of the course along with any required written components.

Enrolling your student in a LanguageBird course offers greater freedom and flexibility for their learning than what is typically found in a traditional brick-and-mortar high school and middle school environment. All of our faculty are experienced instructors in the field of education, not just native speakers. Our trained, experienced instructors love to work with high school and middle school students. Students meet with the same instructor building a relationship and skills. Students use our courses to make more room in their daily school schedule to get ahead, make-up a class, or study a language not offered at their school.

The average teacher to student ratio in American public schools is 1 to 30. This makes learning Hebrew very challenging for most students. Why? Because kids learn at different paces, and they perform better when the approach is customized to their learning style. But with one teacher to a class full of kids, all students are taught in a single method, and are expected to all learn at the same pace. This makes the class very stressful for many students, and even causes them to get lower grades than they would otherwise receive. Parents often invest in online Hebrew classes so their student can learn the language at their pace, with an approach that fits their needs, and so they can get better grades and stay academically competitive. 

Not all kids who take Hebrew from school campuses are Jewish, and therefore cultural angles are usually left out of lessons. However, you can set your child up with a teacher who is Jewish, and a native speaker from Israel, that can base the Jewish faith and culture around the language lessons if making that connection is an objective. If the student is in junior high, taking online Hebrew classes could be set up to also help him prepare for his Bar Mitzvah where he will be expected to speak Hebrew. If the student is in high school he may want to volunteer by going to Israel to lead kids on guided tours when they take their cultural birthright trip. By being fluent in Hebrew, older kids can get in critical volunteer work for their college transcripts while also giving back to their homeland by teaching kids about their rich culture. 

Israel is one of the top destinations in the world. People love to go for the ancient history and Biblical legends surrounding the area. They also go to indulge in Tel Aviv’s vibrant and liberal nightlife, visit the beautiful beaches, explore the art and architecture all over the country, and take a culinary tour from Jerusalem to Haifa.
