LanguageBird transcripts are recognized by colleges and universities worldwide.
Additionally, LanguageBird is both NCAA approved for athletes as well as University of California approved for California students seeking admission to UC/CSU campuses. College-bound, NCAA, and transferring students receive credit for courses completed with LanguageBird. For information on how to send transcripts, please see our FAQ page.
How do I get high school credit?
If you have not met your high school graduation requirements for world language, we recommend you talk to your school counselor and let them know you would like to take a LanguageBird course. Most college-prep high schools require 2 years of world language. Some high schools will have you fill out a concurrent enrollment form or ask you to send a transcript once your LanguageBird course is complete. We are happy to work with your high school administrator and counselors!

COURSES FOR CREDIT
Accredited high school and middle school Spanish courses with a private instructor at your pace and convenience.
Students build upon and increase listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language. Students develop their Spanish proficiency through extensive, spontaneous interaction with a native speaker in the language.
Students develop cultural awareness and become prepared to encounter real-life situations outside of the classroom through discussions of cultural customs and behavior, watching videos, conducting internet research, and reading authentic materials written in the target languages.

BIRD BUNDLES
Accredited high school and middle school Courses for Credit combined with Tutoring & Test Prep for students needing or wanting extra support or practice.
Through intensive instruction students build upon and increase listening, speaking, reading, writing skills in the target language. Each meeting alternates one Course for Credit lesson with one Tutoring lesson. This way, students have one “learning” lesson and then an additional practice/support tutoring hour for homework, extra questions, or reviewing concepts.
Students develop cultural awareness and become prepared to encounter real-life situations outside of the classroom through discussions of cultural customs and behavior, watching videos, conducting internet research, and reading authentic materials written in the target languages.

TUTORING & TEST PREP
Students receive private, one-to-one, live tutoring sessions geared toward reiterating concepts covered in their school classroom.
Instructors address any difficulties students may be having and help with homework and test preparation. Regularly scheduled lessons are recommended, rather than just for “emergency” situations. It’s best if the student consistently builds skills as well as a personal relationship with their instructor.
The lessons can also be geared toward helping students prepare for exams, including but not limited to the Global Seal of Biliteracy, AP exams, and other fluency exams.

CONVERSATIONAL LESSONS
This is live, one-to-one communicative Spanish lessons to cover elementary and intermediate grammatical structures of the Spanish language, as well as vocabulary and cultural situations with a native speaker.

Spanish Instructors
Our approach to education is personal and dynamic.
Innovative learning activities, students directed projects, and unique assessments engage students in the learning process. Instructors take notes during each lesson to share with students and evaluate students over time based on personal progress. We don’t believe in timed exams. We do believe in giving students the opportunity to present what they have learned in a format and environment in which they are comfortable. Final projects are presented to the instructor during the final lesson of the course along with any required written components.
Why choose an online middle school or high school language program?
Enrolling your student in a LanguageBird course offers greater freedom and flexibility for their learning than what is typically found in a traditional brick-and-mortar high school and middle school environment. All of our faculty are experienced instructors in the field of education, not just native speakers. Our trained, experienced instructors love to work with high school and middle school students. Students meet with the same instructor building a relationship and skills. Students use our courses to make more room in their daily school schedule to get ahead, make-up a class, or study a language not offered at their school.

An Online Spanish Instructor Offers One-on-One Instruction
One of the leading reasons why so many high school students are unsuccessful at learning a new language and passing high school Spanish classes is that many do better with one-on-one attention. But no school has the resources to offer this level of instruction. This is why investing in an online Spanish tutor is so advantageous because it strays from a classroom of 25+ students with a single teacher, utilizing a single teaching method, and instead offers one-on-one instruction using a teaching style that best resonates with the individual student. Not only will they actually learn the language, they will get top grades from this level of instruction and have a great shot at getting into the college of their choice.
How an Online Spanish Tutor Can Help High School Students Learn More and Earn School Credit
Learning a new language may come easy for some, but for others it can be very challenging. According to an April 2019 report by ‘LA School Report’, less than half of LAUSD’s graduating class is on track to graduate and are eligible for California’s public universities.
In California, public universities (UC and CSU system) require a minimum number of courses in several subject categories (A-G courses) which are recommended to qualify for admission. Taking two years of the same foreign language is one of the requirements with Spanish being, by far, the most popular course. Students need a D grade to graduate, but to be eligible for a state university they need a C, and to be truly competitive with thousands of other students clambering for the same spot, an A is ideal. But of all university admission minimum requirements, achieving high grades in a language class proves to be the most challenging obstacle for most students. This is why it is highly advantageous to hire an online Spanish tutor for high school students so they can not only pass their course but actually learn the language, accelerate and give them that leading competitive edge when applying to universities.
Learn why and how an online Spanish tutor can improve the learning experience, and ensure the student will graduate with a competitive edge for getting into a top university.

An Online Spanish Instructor Lets Students Learn on their Time.
The life of middle and high school students is actually a full-time job. Between attending classes, studying, participating in sports, partaking in other extra curricular activities like playing an instrument or participating on the debate team, and doing volunteer work , there are also family obligations that play into life. This means a window of time to meet with an online Spanish instructor can be minimal, and this is why middle and high school students need an online Spanish instructor who will teach them, on their time, whether that is at 6AM, 10PM or on weekends. When you invest in a high-quality online Spanish tutor, you get the freedom of learning at your convenience.
