How do I get high school credit?
If you have not met your high school graduation requirements for world language, we recommend you talk to your school counselor and let them know you would like to take a LanguageBird® course. Most college-prep high schools require 2 years of world language. Some high schools will have you fill out a concurrent enrollment form or ask you to send a transcript once your LanguageBird® course is complete. We are happy to work with your high school administrator and counselors!

Choose from courses for credit, tutoring and test prep, conversation lessons or a combination!
COURSES FOR CREDIT
Accredited high school Korean courses with a private instructor at your pace and convenience.
Students build upon and increase listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language. Students develop their Korean proficiency through extensive, spontaneous interaction with a native speaker in the language.
Students develop cultural awareness and become prepared to encounter real life situations outside of the classroom through discussions of cultural customs and behavior, videos, Internet research and by reading authentic materials written in the target language.
TUTORING & TEST PREP
Students receive private, one-to-one, live tutoring sessions geared toward reiterating concepts covered in their school classroom.
Tutors address any difficulties students may be having and help with homework and test preparation. Regularly scheduled lessons are recommended, rather than just for “emergency” situations. It’s best if the student consistently builds skills as well as a personal relationship with their tutor.
The lessons can also be geared toward helping students prepare for exams, including but not limited to: SAT Subject Tests, AP and fluency exams.
This is live, one-to-one communicative Korean lessons to cover elementary and intermediate grammatical structures of the Korean language, as well as vocabulary and cultural situations with a native speaker.
These lessons are designed to help students develop and mature foundational communicative skills to prepare them for everyday conversations in Korean. In addition, the student will master their fluency through the stylized nature of the course. Conversation lessons are open to students of all ages.

Our approach to education is personal, dynamic.
Innovative learning activities, unique assessments, and student directed projects engage students. Instructors take notes during each session to share with students and evaluate students over time based on personal progress. We don’t believe in timed exams. We do believe in giving students the opportunity to present what they have learned in a format and environment in which they are comfortable. Final projects are presented to the instructor during the final session of the course along with any required written components.
Why Choose an Online High School Language Program?
Enrolling your student in a LanguageBird course offers greater freedom and flexibility for their learning than what is typically found in a traditional brick-and-mortar high school environment. All of our faculty are experienced instructors in the field of education, not just native speakers. Our trained, experienced teachers love to work with high school students. Students meet with the same teacher building a relationship and skills. Students use our courses to make more room in their daily school schedule, to get ahead, make-up a class or study a language not offered at their school.
We provide students with the most personalized, one-to-one, learning experience.

Kids Who Take Online Korean Classes Tend to Get Significantly Higher Grades
There are many reasons why kids get better grades when their parents invest in online Korean classes. Let’s start with the basics: the average student to teacher ratio in American public high schools is 30-to-1. This means that all students are expected to learn at the same pace, within a framework that uses a single approach. But the reality of learning a foreign language automatically makes this a waste of time for most pupils, as we all learn and digest information differently.
When kids take online Korean classes from an accredited program such as ones offered by LanguageBird, the teacher (always experienced instructor and native speaker) will customize the approach to the student’s learning style, and ensure the pace will help him or her achieve success, learn the language, and get the credits they need within the appropriate window of time. One-on-one attention is commonplace with online Korean classes–something traditional classes can’t offer due to the way in which campus classes are constructed. This means kids have an easier time learning due to the custom approach, and as a result, they get better grades because they face fewer obstacles to fight against in the learning process.
Online Korean Classes Add More Value that Traditional Classes can Never Offer
There are several reasons why online Korean classes give students more value. First of all, nobody just randomly chooses a language for an elective; there is logic behind the choice. Students take Korean for a number of reasons. Some students may have parents who were born in Korea, but they were born and raised in America with English as their language. They may want to take online Korean classes to better connect with their culture and to be able to converse with the older generations when they take that family trip to Seoul. Then there are some students who love the Korean culture (pop music, anime, fashion and other subjects). They may choose Korean as a second language simply because they want to form deeper connections with these things. There are also students who already know what they want to major in when they get to college, and what career path they would like to follow. Taking online Korean classes will help them achieve their dreams. For example, learning Korean will serve students well who want to pursue an international business degree with a focus on Korean markets. Even students who want to become animators, art historians, diplomats, international lawyers, and traveling physicians, all with a direct interest in Korea, would be wise to take online Korean classes to add to their transcripts. When you invest in online Korean classes for your child, the teacher can utilize the one-on-one approach and take their goals and contextually add customized layers of learning into the lesson to enable the approach to register more with each unique student. This adds a ton of value, as studies show that personalizing lessons lead to higher grades.
Kids Call the Shots with Online Korean Classes
One of the main reasons why parents invest in online Korean classes for their kids from organizations like LanguageBird is that students get to schedule the classes whenever they want to. This is a major benefit: when students take online Korean classes based on their schedule, and not on the teacher’s clock, it allows them more free range for studying, meeting obligations, and for extracurricular activities. Furthermore, language classes offered smack in the middle of the day can put tons of stress on a student. However, when parents invest in online Korean classes for their child, the student gets to pick the time, and life gets easier. Some students like to take language classes at 7AM first thing in the morning when the mind is fresh from a night’s sleep, and before they head off to school. Other kids prefer to take a course in the evening before going to bed, and others like to take their online Korean classes on the weekend. Really, the best approach is one that will create a manageable schedule. When a class load and obligations are manageable, students perform better and have less stress. This is one of many reasons why parents are eager to invest in online Korean classes for their child.

An Online Korean Tutor Lets Students Learn on their Time.
The life of high school students is actually a full-time job. Between attending classes, studying, participating in sports, partaking in other extra curricular activities like playing an instrument or participating on the debate team, and doing volunteer work (many do), there are also family obligations that play into life. This means a window of time to meet with an online Korean tutor can be minimal, and this is why high school students need an online Korean tutor who will teach them, on their time, whether that is at 6AM, 10PM or on weekends. When you invest in a high-quality online Korean tutor, you get the freedom of learning at your convenience.
