Students build upon and increase listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language. Students develop their Hindi proficiency through extensive, spontaneous interaction with a native speaker in the language.

Students develop cultural awareness and become prepared to encounter real-life situations outside of the classroom through discussions of cultural customs and behavior, watching videos, conducting internet research, and reading authentic materials written in the target languages.

Conversational Lessons are for students who are looking to expand their language skills. Heading to a new country and want to be prepared? Need language skills for a new job? With Conversational Lessons, you’ll learn to speak like a native with a native.

Innovative learning activities, students directed projects, and unique assessments engage students in the learning process. Instructors take notes during each lesson to share with students and evaluate students over time based on personal progress. We don’t believe in timed exams. We do believe in giving students the opportunity to present what they have learned in a format and environment in which they are comfortable. Final projects are presented to the instructor during the final lesson of the course along with any required written components.

Enrolling your student in a LanguageBird course offers greater freedom and flexibility for their learning than what is typically found in a traditional brick-and-mortar high school and middle school environment. Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world, right after English and Mandarin Chinese. This means that being a fluent Hindi speaker can open the doors to unique interpersonal connections and professional opportunities; which can enrich both your resume and your own personal life.

Professionally speaking, Hindi can be a required language to many careers and jobs such as an anthropologist, lawyer, travel agent, interpreter and translator, and many others. On the personal side, learning Hindi can give you a unique chance to understand India’s ancient and modern culture like their meditative chants, poetry collections, and fictional tales to Bollywood movies and I-pop songs.

We’re not going to lie to you: learning Hindi can be difficult for a non-native speaker. The Devanagari, the script used to write Hindi, is an abugida. This means that its individual characters represent a combination of consonants and vowels rather than being separated like in the english alphabet. The Hindi language also doesn’t have certain phonetic markings to help non-native speakers better understand how to pronounce certain words. This is important to learn because each word can mean something entirely different depending on slight changes in its pronunciation.
