How Learning Online Portuguese Can Help With Your Child’s Future Career

Written By: LanguageBird
Learning Online Portuguese

By: Izabella Klein

As there are many multinationals who already operate or are attracted to settle in Brazil. There is also a growing demand to have Brazilian Portuguese in your cultural and professional background, especially for liaise or being transferred to Brazil, it’s an advantage to speak the local language and to learn from a native speaking online Portuguese tutor.

Brazil has one of the top-ten largest economies in the world and the largest in Latin America. It is the 3rd largest exporter of commodities on the planet, exporting to 180 countries worldwide. Many of these Brazilian commodity firms operate inside and outside Brazil, such as the mining company Vale do Rio Doce with multicultural executives. These companies are on the stock exchange attracting investors from all over the world. No wonder Portuguese registers one of the highest growth rates of use and learning as a foreign language according to the United Nations.

The Multiple Benefits of Learning Portuguese

Portuguese skills are so meaningful in so many different markets. Now is the time to learn this great and beautiful language. The great news is, you can do it from your home with online Portuguese tutoring. You should first understand a bit more about Brazil in particular and the industries and areas where your Portuguese can play a part in your student’s future career.

Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of coffee, sugar, and orange juice. The 4th largest cellulose producer, with companies like Klabin and Suzano. The 7th largest oil producer, with state-owned Petrobras, national Ipiranga, international BP, Raizen, and Shell, as well as national Ultrapar that operates in the fuel distribution sectors, among others. It is also one of the largest exporters of beef and chicken. In addition to exporting ethanol, corn, gold, natural gas, iron ore, are among other raw materials that can be found in Brazil.

Many large banks operate in Brazil, such as the Spanish Santander and the British HSBC, opening branches across the country and increasing their credibility among Brazilian account holders and shareholders. International investors invest in Brazil because of the existing and potential resources, not to mention that the Brazilian population (about 209.5 million) is a large consumer market for services and products. So, if you’re interested in opening your own business at some point in life, maybe you should consider what the natural resources are that you need, where they are, who your potential consumers are. Communicating in their local language will make business easier.

Brazil also has an immeasurable touristic potential to be explored due to the enormous diversity of ecosystems, and the great territorial extension and the vast extent of the coastal area, being one of the largest countries in the world. Therefore the hospitality industry, resorts, and ecological tourism are substantial and quite promising for future career options.

If your student is interested in working in any of these job markets potentially in the future, you should consider the importance of learning Portuguese. Remember, Portuguese is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Speakers can be found all over the globe, for example, in Latin America (Brazil), in Europe (Portugal), in Africa (Cabo Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe), and in Asia (Macau in China, Goa in India, Timor-Leste).
