How an Online Spanish Tutor Can Help High School Students Learn More and Earn School Credit

Learning a new language may come easy for some, but for others, it can be very challenging. According to an April 2019 report by ‘LA School Report’, less than half of LAUSD’s graduating class is on track to graduate eligible for California’s public universities.

In California, public universities (UC and CSU systems) require a minimum number of courses in several subject categories (A-G courses) which are recommended to qualify for admission. Taking two years of the same foreign language is one of the requirements with Spanish being, by far, the most popular course. Students need a D grade to graduate, but to be eligible for a state university they need a C, and to be truly competitive with thousands of other students clambering for the same spot, an A is ideal. But of all university admission minimum requirements, achieving high grades in a language class proves to be the most challenging obstacle for most students. This is why it is highly advantageous to hire an online Spanish tutor for high school students so they can not only pass their course and actually learn the language, accelerate and give them that leading competitive edge when applying to universities.

This article is intended to help high school students and their parents learn why and how an online Spanish tutor can improve the learning experience, and ensure the student will graduate with a competitive edge for getting into a top university.

An Online Spanish Tutor Offers One-on-One Instruction

One of the leading reasons why so many high school students are unsuccessful at learning a new language and passing high school Spanish classes is that many do better with one-on-one attention. But no school has the resources to offer this level of instruction. This is why investing in an online Spanish tutor is so advantageous because it strays from a classroom of 25+ students with a single teacher, utilizing a single teaching method, and instead offers one-on-one instruction using a teaching style that best resonates with the individual student. Not only will they actually learn the language, but they will also get top grades from this level of instruction and have a great shot at getting into the college of their choice.

An Online Spanish Tutor Lets Students Learn on their Time

The life of high school students is actually a full-time job. Between attending classes, studying, participating in sports, partaking in other extracurricular activities like playing an instrument or participating on the debate team, and doing volunteer work (many do), there are also family obligations that play into life. This means a window of time to meet with an online Spanish tutor can be minimal, and this is why high school students need an online Spanish tutor who will teach them, on their time, whether that is at 6 AM, 10 PM, or on weekends. When you invest in a high-quality online Spanish tutor, you get the freedom of learning at your convenience.

Accreditation and Online Spanish Classes

So long as the online Spanish tutor works with an agency that also offers online Spanish classes, and the course is fully accredited, it can take the place of a standard Spanish class offered at the high school, and can sometimes garner better results and grades for the student. Once you locate a language learning company that offers online Spanish classes, make sure the course associated with the tutor is accredited and will allow for an easy transition into university. Check with your school counselor, and take advantage of an online Spanish tutor and the courses offered by their agency.
