Savannah E.

American Sign Language Instructor

Hello! My name is Savannah, and I am excited to share my passion for ASL with you!

I am from Dallas, Texas, and I have always loved languages, communication, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. I am proficient in ASL and have spent years studying language, culture, and communication—including immersive experiences in Tanzania, where I learned Swahili and engaged with local communities. These opportunities strengthened my belief that language learning is not just about words or signs—it’s about connection and cultural understanding.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from St. John’s University, with minors in Linguistics, Social Justice, and International Studies. I am now pursuing my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Gallaudet University. My academic and professional journey has deepened my love for language and cultural exchange, which I bring into every lesson.

My teaching style is interactive, creative, and student-centered. I focus on practical communication skills, building confidence, and making learning fun. I love incorporating activities, games, and real-life conversation practice to help students remember and use ASL naturally.

A fun fact about me: I absolutely love arts and crafts! In my free time, you’ll often find me crocheting, making rugs, working on embroidery projects, or trying out new creative hobbies. I bring that same creativity and joy into my teaching, along with my love for exploring cultures and storytelling.

I can’t wait to help you grow your ASL skills, feel confident communicating, and enjoy the learning process!
