Hello! I am a semi-retired teacher from the Adirondack region of New York State. Having taught in small, rural schools for 32 years, I have developed a strong teaching practice with a focus on adapting lessons to individuals. My original training was in teaching French, which I did for half of my career. I studied at the Centre de Linguistique Appliquée in Besançon, France and have a B.A. degree in French. My M.A. degree is in Education. I am especially interested in techniques for teaching languages in an authentic, useful and satisfying way and in using the language to explore culture. My background in linguistics and history enriches my practice. In my spare time, I am a musician and I enjoy web development.
