Miho S.

Japanese Instructor

Hi and Konnichiwa! My name is Miho Sato. I was born and raised in Yokohama Japan. I have been living in the USA since 1994. I graduated college in both Japan and America and became a JPN language instructor. I am a well-experienced language teacher and have been teaching more than 20 years at universities and colleges in Rochester, New York. I have also been collaborating with Japanese companies in the US supporting them as a translator. I believe that language is alive. Language is not just about an alphabet and learning a language is not just memorizing alphabets and grammars. Language is one of our communication tools. It includes style, culture, and habits that people communicate and interact with one another. My teaching style is not only teaching language itself but also its culture and traditions including cultural manners and current events in society. Successful language learners should be able to handle all written, verbal, and non-verbal forms of communication. I will be happy to teach the Japanese language as well as sharing my knowledge and experiences with my students.
