Hello, My name is Shedler and I’m a linguist with a passion for languages. Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, I lived for a few years in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Like Haiti, the Dominican Republic is a beautiful land of sun, beach and sea. My journey with languages began with my mother tongue, French, a language close to my heart. My formal education in French linguistics and communication has not only enriched my understanding of the language, but also of its various cultural contexts. Today, I’m proud of my mastery of French and eager to share this passion with others.

Currently residing in the United States, I am poised to further deepen my understanding of French linguistics and communication. These varied experiences will serve to bolster my linguistic capabilities, fuel my passion for French communication, broaden my cultural comprehension, and strengthen my affection for my mother tongue.

A funny anecdote about me: I love exploring different cultures through their languages and histories. In my spare time, you’ll often find me trying to learn about the history and culture of many countries around the world, or reading a good book in French, English or Spanish. I believe that language learning is a journey, and I’m here to make that journey as enjoyable and rewarding as possible for my students. In fact, I speak up to 4 languages myself.
