Edwin F.

LanguageBird American Sign Language Instructor

Hello! My name is Edwin, and I am an American Sign Language (ASL) instructor and a Trilingual Interpreter (ASL/Spanish/English). I have been working in the field of ASL for 25 years. I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New York, but I currently live in Florida. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to have many Deaf friends who have accepted me into their community. I am grateful for their acceptance and for the opportunity to teach their language and share their culture. In honor and respect to them, I stay current with the language, and strive to keep myself updated on new trends.

Languages and communication have always fascinated me, and ASL has become a true passion of mine. In addition to teaching ASL, I also encourage those around me to learn more languages, including ASL.

Teaching ASL not only allows me to share my love for this beautiful language, but it also provides me with the chance to connect with diverse individuals and learn about their cultures and experiences. Being a part of my students’ language journey and witnessing their growth and success brings me great joy and gratitude.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy music, martial arts, and spending time with my family and friends. I believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance to ensure that I can bring my best self to the classroom every day.

I am excited to continue sharing my passion for ASL and helping more individuals discover the power of sign language as a means of communication and connection.
