Ramona H.
Hello, I grew up in former East Germany and experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall as a child. After spending an exchange year in 11th grade in Virginia, I fell in love with the United States. I was able to attend Sweet Briar College in VA for undergrad and the University of Utah for grad school. While in Utah, I met my husband. We are now happily married, living with our two boys and dog in Utah. I love the outdoors. We spend all seasons in the mountains. Besides hiking and downhill skiing, my family enjoys backcountry skiing. I also love gardening and spending active time with my shepweiler Bear. I have taught German in various settings over the last 21 years. I have taught German 1 – AP German in various high schools. I have taught 1st and 2nd semester German at Utah State University for the last 12 years and continue to teach there every semester. Three years ago, I changed my teaching style to TPRS (Total Physical Response Storytelling). This style is very interactive. If you chose me as your teacher, you will learn a lot of material through acting and singing. We will have very interactive lessons that will keep you engaged the whole time. I look forward to meeting you, teaching you my native language, introducing you to my culture, and seeing you succeed in learning German.
